1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the VolunTEEN Hours platform (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are a minor, your parent or guardian must also agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Platform Description
VolunTEEN Hours is a software-as-a-service platform that enables organizations (HOAs, schools, nonprofits, and similar entities) to manage teen volunteer programs. The platform provides tools for event creation, volunteer registration, service hour submission and approval, parental consent collection, and reporting. VolunTEEN Hours does not itself organize, sponsor, or supervise any volunteer activities.
3. Organization Responsibilities
Organizations registering for and using the Service agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information about their organization and events.
- Ensure all volunteer events are lawful, safe, and appropriate for minor participants.
- Provide adequate supervision for minor volunteers in accordance with applicable laws and best practices.
- Verify and accurately approve or reject volunteer hour submissions based on actual participation.
- Obtain any required parental or guardian consent independently of the platform consent tools where required by law.
- Protect the personal information of volunteer users in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
- Not use the platform to collect, store, or process information for any purpose other than legitimate volunteer program management.
4. Volunteer and Teen User Responsibilities
Volunteers using the Service agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account and submitting service hours.
- Submit only hours that were actually completed as part of an approved volunteer event.
- Obtain parent or guardian consent before registering if under 18 years of age, as required by the enrolling organization.
- Not create multiple accounts or misrepresent their identity.
- Use the platform only for legitimate volunteer program participation.
5. Account Registration and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at legal@volunteenhours.com of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe have been compromised or misused.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its infrastructure.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Harvest, scrape, or collect data from the platform without our written permission.
- Impersonate any person or organization.
7. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at legal@volunteenhours.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise detrimental to the platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, software, and design elements of the VolunTEEN Hours platform are the property of VolunTEEN Hours and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, VolunTEEN Hours and its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
